Fun In The Forum With Get Swale Growing

Last weekend, The Forum Shopping Centre in Sittingbourne hosted a ‘Get Swale Growing’ event.

The event was created to encourage Kent locals to spend time gardening and to enjoy wildlife activities.

There were a range of stalls, which were focussed on elements such as conservation, seed swapping and woodwork.

As you may know, we enjoy working with local organisations, and we even sponsor the Best Garden For Wild Birds category in the Kent Wildlife Trust’s Wild About Gardens awards.

At Get Swale Growing, Kent Wildlife Trust and Swale in Bloom created a beautiful garden, with the help of various organisations. Optivo and Amethyst Horticulture provided planters and plants for the garden, which showed locals how to make the most out of any outdoor space, regardless of size.

Friends Of Milton Creek Country Park, alongside other organisations, helped to put the garden together- and they did a fantastic job!

We donated our SingingFriend feeders to the garden, which looked great when attached to the fence. Additionally, we gave away a feeder to a lucky winner, who participated in their Favourite Bird Competition.

We’re really pleased that the event was a success and we commend everyone involved, including Ali Corbel from Swale In Bloom for her fantastic work in organising this event.

We can’t wait to see more events like this in the Swale area, and we hope locals feel inspired to take up new gardening projects too!
